Payment Assistance for Gas & Electric (PAGE) is a state-funded utility assistance program designed to assist low to moderate income families in New Jersey with up to $1,500/year in benefits to pay their utility bills.


The Affordable Housing Alliance (www.housingall.org) is the administrator for the Payment Assistance for Gas & Electric (PAGE) program. The PAGE program, funded by the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), is an ANNUAL assistance program and is designed to help low to moderate income households across the state of New Jersey who are experiencing economic hardship and struggling to pay their electric and natural gas bills.

The PAGE energy assistance program benefits homeowners and renters who are NJ residents; are not currently receiving USF or HEA, are facing a crisis situation that includes a documented notice of overdue payment for gas and/or electric service, and have a past history of making regular payments towards their utility bills.

Affordable Housing Alliance has partnered with Affiliate agencies in the different counties to assist local clients in completing the application process. Click here for a list of agencies.

GIFT OF WARMTH

THE GIFT OF WARMTH PROGRAM IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS CUSTOMERS IN MONMOUTH AND MIDDLESEX COUNTIES ONLY. Applications for any other county or utility company for Gift of Warmth will be disqualified.

The Gift of Warmth, funded by New Jersey Natural Gas and customer's donations to assists customers who have exhausted other forms of energy assistance, as well as those who are experiencing financial difficulties because of illness, high medical expenses, or other unanticipated circumstances. AHA assists with the application process to help qualified customers who cannot afford to pay their NJNG bill.

Equal Payment Plan In the company's Equal Payment Plan (EPP), you're billed one-twelfth of your annual estimated usage each month. To account for your actual household use during the year, the reviews of your actual usage occur in the 8th and 12th months - it is at these times that payment amounts might be adjusted. Extended Due Date If you are at least 60 years old and receive a Social Security or pension check, or if you receive disability assistance, and your electric bill is usually due just before your monthly benefit check comes, they will extend your payment due date until after your check arrives.

Extended Payment Plan If conditions make it difficult to pay your electric bill on time, they will arrange an extended payment plan. This maintains service while you make payments more suited to your financial situation.

Military Deferred Payment Program This program is designed to assist customers who are having financial difficulties because their family members have been called to active military duty. Customers participating in the program may elect to defer paying either all or part of their monthly electric bill. When the family member in the military service returns home, the account will be reviewed to determine payment arrangements for the balance owed. Call 800.686.3421 for more information.

Customers who have switched to an alternative generation supplier may defer the charges paid to their supplier only if that supplier offers a deferred payment program. If a supplier does not offer a deferred payment program, the supplier charges must be paid each month. Call 800-962-0383 to learn more about this program.
