Arrival and Dismissal

7:30- West doors open for breakfast

7:45- Adult supervision starts at all doors

7:55- Signal Bell rings for students to line up

8:00- Teachers bring students in by class

2:05- Dismissal Bell- students are dismissed out grade level doors

Students should not arrive before the opening of the building unless coming for breakfast. It is important to remember that there is no adult supervision on school grounds before 7:45 am and after 2:05 pm unless a child is involved with After-School Club or other programs. 

The following image shows the designated pick up and drop off sites where parents will be able to pick up their students.

An example: A family of three consisting of a Kindergartener, a 3rd Grader, and a 5th grader will drop off their students at the Kindergarten drop-off site. The third and fifth graders will then go to their grade level door to line up and enter the building. (Note: if students are eating breakfast, they would all enter the west doors together.) At the time of school dismissal, the siblings meet at the Kindergarten pick-up site to wait for their parents to pick them up.

Please do your part and do the following: 

• Please drop off/pick up your student(s) at the curb. 

• Please have your student enter/exit the car on the curbside to avoid traffic. 

• Stay in your vehicles 

• Send your student to their doors noted on the map. 

            Note: a faculty member will be at each door starting at 7:45 in the morning. 

• A child should not be motioned across the street.  If a child does need to cross the street, they must cross at a crosswalk.

For obvious safety reasons, drivers should not open their doors until they are next to the curb. 

Carpool

The carpool lane on the front, south side of the school is for drop-off and pick-up only. Please follow these guidelines to keep traffic moving smoothly:

1. Stay in your car at all times.

2. Students must exit by the curb.

3. Once your student exits, pull forward immediately to allow room for others.

4. Use the lane directly by the school—there are NOT two lanes for drop-off or pick-up.

5. Do not park or wait in the lane while staying in your car.

These arrangements do not affect early morning drop off for breakfast, after-school club pick up, or parents that walk their students home. Long-term parking is available in the west parking lot across the street from the west entrance. There will be no long-term parking around the building. A fifteen-minute check-in/check-out courtesy parking is located at 400 E.

A friendly reminder to parents: double parking is not permitted. Parking in the “No Parking Buses Only” sections at any time of the day is not permitted. These parking violations will be closely monitored and if necessary, drivers will be ticketed. There is no parking allowed at the pick-up/drop-off sites at any time of the day. If students are not present at the pick-up sites, parents will have to circle around the block until their student is readily available to be picked up. Alternative parking can be found in the surrounding blocks of the school, and across the street to the west in the large parking lot for Adams.
