Current volunteer opportunities
Winter Guard > Sign up here to help! Winter Guard Season is well underway, but we could still use some help. We are seeking drivers to pull the trailer to/from competitions and parents to help with team floors used for performances (Jr High Varsity Cadets, HS JV, and HS Varsity).
Join the journey!
Parents, family members, alumnus, and community supporters are invited to volunteer with the Booster Club to support Lockhart ISD’s Roaring Lion Band and Color Guard program. Your time and talents help provide vital resources, memorable experiences, and continued excellence for our students. Join us in backing the pride, spirit, and success of these Roaring Lions.
What are the benefits of participating?
Watch your child and/or their team grow into fruitful young adults as they develop important life skills like discipline, teamwork, and time management.
Four years go fast, so we encourage family members to join in soon and enjoy lasting memories with your child!
Do I have to help with everything?
Parents and volunteers choose when they help. There is no obligation to help at every event.
There are different opportunities to help during marching season, winter guard season, or at various fundraisers or events throughout the year.
How do parents get plugged in?
Attend parent booster family meetings. These are generally held on the third Thursday of each month at the Lockhart High School Band Hall.

What kind of things can I help with?
There are various opportunities to help throughout the year from marching season, to winter guard season, to spring concert season.
Below are some teams you can join. You will receive brief training no matter where you help.
Chuck Wagon: Pick up, prepare, and serve food to students for football games and competitions.
Medic: Assist students with minor medical issues at practices, football games, and competitions.
Pit Crew: Assist with loading/unloading of trailer and field setup for marching season.
Uniform: Measure and assign uniforms for marching season and concert season. We are always seeking help with minor sewing adjustments.
Winter Guard: Assist with pulling booster trailer to and from events, chaperone teams, equipment setup and loading, and feeding teams.
Fundraisers are held all year and we can use everyone's help to make these as successful as possible! Fundraisers may vary from year to year, but here are some opportunities to help. All funds raised go towards band and color guard financial needs.
Concession stand
We offer several different roles and shifts to help with our concession stand on the Visitor side of Lion Stadium. The stand is mostly open during football season, but it can be open for other events from occasionally. Volunteers will have the opportunity to cook, prepare food, serve food and drinks, take orders and money, and re-stock. We invite all families and community members to help as this is one of our largest fundraisers of the year.
Seek sponsorships
All parents and family members are welcome to seek sponsorships from local businesses using our online form on the Sponsorships page of our website. We welcome sponsorships any time of year, but typically begin seeking them in May to begin gathering support for the following season.
Band & Burger event
Held during marching season at our concession stand on Visitor side of Lion Stadium.
Christmas to Remember burger sale
We have a booth at Lockhart's Christmas to Remember event the first weekend of December to sell burger and chip combos. We need volunteers to setup, take orders, cook, prepare orders, and cleanup.
Winter concert cake auction
We need help seeking donations from local bakers to auction off at the High School band winter concert. There is both silent and live auctions at this event. We also need help with silent auction setup, assisting with live auction event, and collecting money.
Spring concert basket raffle
We seek donations for various types of gift baskets to raffle in May near the band's spring concerts. We can always use help preparing baskets and selling raffle tickets!
Spirit nights
Various spirit nights are held from fall to spring and are announced on our social media pages.
