Director of Bands
Peyton Grover is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music educator living in Lockhart, Texas. He currently serves as Director of Bands at Lockhart High School where he leads the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and the Roaring Lion Band and Color Guard. Previously, Mr. Grover was the Director of Bands at San Marcos High School and began his career as Assistant Director of Bands at Bastrop High School. Mr. Grover graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Studies with all-level teacher certification. Mr. Grover is currently a saxophonist with the Texas Mambo Orchestra. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi.
Associate Band Director
Joseph Gannon is in his 29th year of teaching, 17 at Lockhart High School as Associate Director of Bands. He grew up in Spring, TX and graduated from Klein Oak High School. Then he attended Southwest Texas and earned his Bachelor of Music Degree. After seven years of teaching he continued his post-graduate work at Texas State University, where he earned his Masters of Music Education Degree. Mr. Gannon co-directs the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Marching Band, and teaches the Applied Music class. When not at work he loves spending time with his family, and serving the Lord and the Lockhart community with the Lockhart Church of Christ. He’s been married to his wife Lucinda (she is the new Early College High School Coordinator at Lockhart HS), for 25 years, and they have two children Derek (a sophomore at Abilene Christian University), Caelen (a Senior at Lockhart HS), and two labradoodle dogs, Benny and Buster!
Director of Percussion
Jared Autrey is in his 11th year teaching, and 6th year teaching percussion at Lockhart High School and Lockhart Junior High. Jared received an Associate's Degree in music from Tyler Junior College, where he marched with their World Class Indoor Drumline. After Tyler Junior College, Jared went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Texas A&M University (formerly Texas A&M University - Commerce). Jared enjoys working in Lockhart and being able to work with a wonderful, talented and dedicated Fine Arts staff. Outside of teaching, Jared enjoys woodworking, playing music, playing video games, traveling, and spending time with his wife Chelsea and four legged fur child Daisy Mae, and whatever dog they are currently fostering (currently on foster dog #12).
Director of Color Guard
Sergeo is in his 7th year with LISD as the Color Guard Director for Lockhart High School and Lockhart Jr High. He was named Lockhart ISD's "Lion Heart" Employee of the Year. He has led the LJHS Color Guard to undefeated championship seasons in the past four years, and the LHS Color Guard to consistent class promotion in TCGC competition. Mr. Rodriguez is from Orlando, Florida and currently resides in Austin. He is entering his 19th year of teaching Color Guard. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with friends and recharging.
