Marching band rehearses, performs and competes during the first 3 months of school and is the flagship performing group of the Roaring Lion Band. Members of all high school band and color guard classes are performing members of the LHS Marching Band.

Woodwind, brass and percussion musicians are all participants in a concert band. These indoor ensembles are grouped by ability level and assigned through an audition. Our 2 concert bands perform at school concerts, community functions and competitions during the winter and spring.

This team of performers come from various performance backgrounds and provide energy, style and pageantry to generate the marching band’s overall effect. During the winter and spring months, these students make up LHS’ Varsity and JV Winter Guards.Color Guard consists of a Marching Band Color Guard during the fall semester and Winter Guard during the Spring semester.

In addition to performing as members of the marching band and concert bands, the percussion musicians of the RLB form an ensemble of their own that performs during the winter and spring months.
