The Google core apps for students are Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, Forms, Jamboard, and a few others listed under the Google app menu.
If you want access to the Enhanced Google Account for Teachers, please submit a Helpdesk Ticket to request it. An Enhanced Google Account includes Google+ Pages, Google+ Hangouts, Maps/Earth, Photos, YouTube, Google Custom Search Engine, and Google Analytics.
YES! Elementary students to have access to some Google Enhanced apps such as Google Earth, Google Maps, CS First, Applied Digital Skills, Google My Maps, and Google Photos.
In order for a student to have access to these additional apps, their parent/guardian must sign a form which can be found when they log into PowerSchool (under the Forms link on the navigation). Once the parent/guardian agrees to these apps, they will be added to the student’s Google app menu.
Log into PowerSchool
Click on the Backpack for a class
Click on a student’s name
From the drop-down menu on the right, select “Student Information”
You will see whether they have a Google and Google Enhanced accounts. Looking at the picture below, I can see that this student does not have the Google Enhanced apps so they do not have access to Google Earth, Maps, My Maps, and Photos
If you decide to use any of these Google Enhanced apps in your class, I would first check and see how many students have access to these apps.
