All new teachers have two formal observations per year (if tenured, then one). Formal observations consist of a pre-observation meeting, the classroom observation, and a post-observation meeting.
There is a four-year observation rotation for contracted teachers: Formal, Direct Supervision years 1, 2, and 3. Teachers returning from a leave always start back on the formal year, then continue the rotation.
You can find your place in the rotation on PA-ETEP.
Go to Frontline. Login. Click Activity Catalogs > District Catalog. Search for your PD session. Locate your session (some are school-specific) & click Register.
NOTE: After you have attended a session, you need to complete the survey, then Mark Complete to earn credit.
EPER is Extra Pay for Extra Responsibility. This is district-offered compensation for duties that go above-and-beyond your contractual duties. Compensation should be agreed upon with a supervisor prior to submission. Rates and further information can be found in the Teacher Contract.
District [HR] will contact you if you need to complete trainings.
Each year, teachers need to complete PSSA training. In addition, yearly Safe Schools Trainings are mandatory. You can login to find individualized sessions and due dates.
If the district has approved the program, you can probably find it in Self-Service (app pre-installed that needs to be connected to district network to access). If not, you can log a ticket with the Help Desk to inquire.
LMSD Information Systems Department has established a wireless network dedicated to employees’ personal cell phones. The wireless network is called “SSTF,” which is an abbreviation for “School Safety Task Force,” since this idea grew out of the work of the School Safety Task Force and should be utilized during an emergency situation. Click here to learn how to sign up for SSTF.
NOTE: SSTF wireless network must comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and therefore is filtered. Click here for more information about the Children’s Internet Protection Act.
