These writing forms have been selected because they are the most frequently referenced in the Ontario Language Curriculum, Grades 1-8. Elementary. Throughout the year, students should also experience writing other forms, such as poetry. Providing students with authentic cross-curricular writing opportunities will support the development of writing skills and support inquiry.
