Acadience Benchmark Screener
PPM 168 states that all students in Year 2 of Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2, will have an Early Reading Screening (ERS) completed in the fall, beginning in 2024.
Acadience Reading was selected as the ERS for the LKDSB.
The Acadience Screener measures essential early literacy and reading skills
It has benchmarks that identify students who may be at risk for reading difficulties
Each measure is brief and timed

Acadience Reading benchmarks are target scores that represent adequate reading skill for a particular grade and time of year. Therefore, it is imperative that each Benchmark is only completed at grade level during each Benchmark window.
