BAND – 1 year
Rancho’s Instrumental Music program is awesome! There are four levels of instrumental music classes. They include:
Intermediate Band (7th and 8th grades): for students who are new to band and have no prior experience.
Concert Band (7th grade): for students who have had some musical experience.
Symphonic Band (7th and 8th grades): for students who have had at least one year of band/or placed by the teacher.
Wind Ensemble* (8th grade): for students who have had two years of band and are placed by the teacher.
A voluntary donation of $30 is appreciated.
JAZZ BAND – 1 year
Jazz Band is offered to students who already understand the basic foundation of their instrument and provides the opportunity to explore the Jazz genre and its styles, forms, and principles. Audition is required of every musician for the entry of this ensemble.

PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE – 1 year
Percussion Ensemble is offered to students who are concurrently enrolled in a Band Class and provides the opportunity to explore in depth study of a variety of Percussion Instruments including mallet percussion, concert percussion, hand drums, drum set, and more.

MUSIC APPRECIATION – 1 semester
This course is about listening, appreciating, understanding, and discussing music. Throughout the semester, we will study the fundamentals of music and discover basic music terminology, instrument families, tempo, rhythm, form and meter. From Classical to Hip-hop and everything in between, we will explore the history, aesthetics, and criticism of Western music for an enhanced understanding of the topic.

CHOIR– 1 year
Do you enjoy singing or would you like to improve your voice? Choir provides students the opportunity to learn vocal techniques and gain confidence in group and solo vocal performing. Students will perform at several school and public performances throughout the school year.
