Following LHS established procedures and deadlines, initial transcripts are submitted to post-secondary programs upon student request to meet student deadlines. This is processed during the Senior Meeting that 12th graders schedule with their school counselor at the beginning of their senior year.
This is an official LHS grade report that lists the current letter grade average in each course as of a predetermined date, typically in late October/early November each year, which would be when a "1st marking period" would have ended. As part of the college application process, students may have a college that is requesting a “marking period 1” report card. Given that we follow a semester calendar, the “Quarter 1 Grade Report” will satisfy this request. Please note: not all colleges/universities require students to submit the beginning of senior year grades. It is NOT mandatory for all colleges that you send this report.
Students who are applying to a college or program that requires a mid-year transcript (your first semester grades and updated GPA for senior school year), are informed in early January that their LHS transcript will be updated after the LHS Semester 1 Report Cards are issued. There is time needed for processing, as transcripts are not automatically updated when report cards are published and transcripts must be reviewed for accuracy prior to submitting to any college or program on behalf of a student. Students are informed of the steps needed to ensure that their transcript is submitted to their programs in a timely manner once they are made available, which is during the first week or two in February, depending on the school year calendar.
A final transcript must be submitted to the program that a student is matriculating to after graduation from LHS. All seniors are strongly encouraged to inform their school counselor of their college outcomes as they find out throughout the year, as well as where they decide to matriculate. All students must inform their school counselor of their confirmed post-secondary plan for our own reporting purposes as well as to ensure that a final transcript will be submitted to the institution on behalf of the student. Final transcripts are published after final grades and report cards are issued, after the last day of school in June. Again, just as is the case with mid-year/semester 1 transcripts, there is processing time needed. Typically, the LHS School Counseling department processes all final transcripts are submitted to post-secondary programs by the second week of July.
