It's a Madhouse is the LMS Spring play.

Synopsis:Best-selling mystery author Byron Pembroke is dead.  Soon after, his highly dysfunctional family gathers on a dark and stormy evening for the reading of the will.  Each family member has their own reason to believe they’ll receive the bulk of Byron’s estate, but the family soon finds out that the deceased didn’t think much of them.  Instead of naming an heir, Byron instead condensed his fortune into one mysterious object and left it to...  whoever finds it first!

Before greedy family members are able to put together individual plans of their own, the mansion is overrun by a horde of strangers seeking shelter from the storm.  And once the strangers find out about the hidden treasure, they soon join in the hunt.

Who will find the treasure first?  Byron’s spoiled, self-serving family members?  The bickering trio of ghost hunters?  The nosy news team?  Or the busload of obnoxious tourists?  Loaded with small parts and several small-cast, comical vignettes, this madcap mystery gives every actor a chance to be part of the madness!

Auditions will take place Tuesday, January 28 and Thursday, January 30. Students only need to attend one day of auditions.

Please see the following rehearsal schedule and have any interested students complete the attached Google Form by Monday, January 27.After the form is submitted students will be invited to join the It's A Madhouse Google Classroom where they will find a contract and audition materials.

Any questions, email Tracey O'Neill at lmsdrama@littletonps.org.

CALLING ALL PETS!!!!

Is there a special animal in your child's life?  It could be their pet or one they are close to?  Does your child do 4H?

It's time to update our lobby with pictures of students and staff with their animal friends.  We're talking about goldfish, horses, lizards, cows, guinea pigs, cats, hedgehogs, gerbils, and dogs (and whatever we forgot to mention). Please send a picture of your child with their animal friend(s), but just one picture per child.  Holly Ballard, our speech therapist, is organizing this and pictures can be sent to hballard@littletonps.org by February 1, 2025.

Can't wait to see our students and their friends!

Littleton Middle School is excited to announce the launch of its brand-new Math Club, a space where students can explore the wonders of mathematics beyond the classroom. Join us in making math more than just numbers—it’s a way of thinking and solving problems together. Open to all grade levels, the club will offer fun and engaging activities, including math puzzles, competitions, and collaborative projects, designed to spark creativity and critical thinking.

Math Club will begin meeting after break on Thursdays in room 103.

A message from the Athletic Director:

I hope everyone is doing well. As we progress through the pre-season period and head into the first week of games and meets, the time to pay athletic fees has arrived.

The fee structure for BASKETBALL and INDOOR TRACK is $250 per student-athlete / per sport with a $1,250 family max per household / per school year inclusive of both middle school and high school students.

The fee structure for ICE HOCKEY is as follows: $250 standard fee + $425 ice rental surcharge. Thus, the typical fee for ice hockey is $675. The ice rental surcharge is in addition to the $250 standard user fee and does not count towards the $1,250 family max.

In cases of financial hardship, fee waivers will be granted based upon the federal free and reduced meals program income guidelines. In the event of extenuating circumstances, please send an email to discuss payment options.

Zero Robotics is a 5-week coding competition for middle school students that is jointly run by MIT, NASA, the International Space Station, and other organizations and companies. Students are tasked with programming robots on board the ISS to solve a challenge. The more efficiently they are able to solve the challenge, the better the score. This summer's challenge was to program the robots on board the ISS to clear away space debris.

More information can be found here: https://zerorobotics.mit.edu/tournaments/40/

The LMS Zero Robotics Team (dubbed the International Space Sharks) consisted of:

Louis Baldanzi

Ethan Cheah

Nathan Laing

Alex Li

Marcus Wong

Ethan Yuen

Jacob Zheng

Despite competing against teams across the country who have been doing this program for many years and are very well resourced, Team International Space Sharks placed 12th out of 59 teams (4th in Massachusetts) for the first round, and for the finals, held on the International Space Station, came in 6th out of 10 teams. All the coaches are extremely proud of the boys and their achievements. All the boys want to do this competition again next summer to see if they can finish higher!
