Hello 1st Grade Families

A little about me...

My name is Allyson Bullock and I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I have been an elementary school teacher for 24 years. This will be my 23rd year at Shaker Lane School as well as my 21st year teaching first grade. Probably one of the most important things for you to know is I LOVE TEACHING, I’m a lifelong learner, and I care deeply about your child’s growth and success in all areas. First grade is a "magical" year, one I hope you and your child will treasure forever. You will be amazed at your child’s growth from the beginning of first grade to the end of the school year! First grade is an incredibly fun and exciting year where students learn, grow, and experience new things every day. Over the year we will be learning a lot about each other, but for now I want to introduce myself.

I live in Burlington, MA with my husband Randy. I have 3 children - Joshua (16- Junior @ Shawsheen Tech. High School), Lindsay (16 - Junior @ Burlington High School ) and Bennett (9 - 4th Grade @ Fox Hill School). On the weekends, I can be found at any number of sporting events for my children. I love watching them play and compete! I like to go for long walks, cook, spend time with my family and do yoga. My favorite animal is a dolphin.

Nightly Folders

Our major form of communication will be through your child’s Home Folder. Any questions/concerns you/I may have can be easily addressed through notes and sent in this folder. Please check it nightly, and I will check it each morning.

4. Request to join the class and I will approve you to join!
