In November 2016 The International Studies Co-Curricular put together a team to participate in NorthWest Model United Nations Conference in Seattle. Over four days, several hundred students from across the United States and the world came together and tackled issues such as climate change, poverty, disease, refugee crises, global conflict and trade. LBCC represented the nations of Sao Tome and Principe as well as Suriname. Committee assignments included General Assembly, World Health Organization and the World Humanitarian Summit.
