Safeguarding and Limited Safeguarding Contacts should save the phone number from which the Monitor Moderation Team will call: 858.666.6910. Some Contacts save the number as Monitor Alert, Monitor 911 or similar.
Email alerts will come from the following address: noreply-monitor@linewize.com. Safeguarding Contacts should add it to their email allow list so it doesn't go to spam.
Ensure you have at least one Safeguarding Contact listed for each of your schools, with a valid phone number and email. Monitor is a 24/7/365 service, so it's important to ensure you have coverage at all times in the event of an emergency phone call. If your school is adding multiple Safeguarding and Limited Safeguarding contacts, the Notes section within each contact's profile can be used to enter specific availability (e.g., Mon. - Fri. 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM). If the contacts are available at all times, the Notes field can be left blank.
If your Safeguarding or Limited Safeguarding Contact(s) are receiving too many email alerts that you don't identify as needing immediate intervention, consider adjusting your email alert level upwards to focus-in on email alerts you want to receive in real-time.
Communicate any changes you make to the contacts for that school. In addition, it is best practice to periodically review the Events section to see alerts you aren't receiving as real-time emails (Alerts are stored in your Events section for review for 15 months).
Please note, Limited Safeguarding Contacts will not receive email alerts if they are added to an organization's default alerting profile. Separate alerting profiles should be created to include the Limited Safeguarding Contacts. Each alerting profile can be assigned to a specific student group with its own email alert thresholds. Schools transitioning from an SSA/pilot of Monitor to fully implementing it may need to reevaluate their alerting profiles. Please email customerengagement@linewize.com to request a review of your district's alerting profile configurations.
Unique Groups can be created for each of your schools. Some common examples of Groups are:
Students belonging to one grade (Grade 12)
Those with a last name beginning with a letter (Last Names A-L)
Those who you've identified as vulnerable (Vulnerable Students).
After syncing your school directories, you can map your Directory Groups so that they can be used in Filter Policies and Alerting Profiles. For example, a school counselor responsible for students (Last Names A-L) can be added to an additional alerting profile specifically for that unique group of students. The school counselor can be added as a Safeguarding or Limited Safeguarding contact for phone call and email alerts. This limits school staff's access to only the students they work with and helps divide the workload across all contacts. Additional alerting profiles could be created for each unique group and associated contacts.

Prior to going-live with Monitor, it is important to establish and review expectations for how Monitor will be used and who is responsible for phone call and email alerts.
Phone call and email alerts will come from 1-858-666-6910 and noreply-monitor@linewize.com. Be sure Safeguarding and Limited Safeguarding Contacts have this saved in the event of an emergency. Some Contacts save the number as Monitor Alert, Monitor 911 or similar.
Monitor is a 24/7/365 service, so it's important to ensure you have coverage at all times in the event of an emergency.
All Safeguarding and Limited Safeguarding Contacts need updated contact information in Monitor, including phone numbers and hours of availability in the Notes section. Each alerting profile needs to have 24-hour coverage.
Safeguarding and Limited Safeguarding contacts will need access to look up student's information, address, and parents'/guardians' information (including after hours). Monitor's moderation team will only provide the student's user name in an emergency situation due to student privacy.
If you're using Local Law Enforcement, they will also need access to look up students' information.
Please reach out to customerengagement@linewize.com with any questions about setting up Monitor contacts, alerting profiles, or Local Law Enforcement.
If you have questions about the risk categories, risk levels, alerting profiles, or anything Monitor related, please click the Help button in your Monitor portal to access dozens of articles in the help section of Monitor.
If you choose to add an outside group, like a local police department, as a Safeguarding Contact to receive alert phone calls when your in-school contacts are not available, you will need to meet with a member of our Customer Engagement Team to work through the process.
Schools and Law Enforcement need to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Monitor does not provide MOUs or legal advice.
Law Enforcement will need to access students' names, addresses and parents'/guardians' information in the event of an emergency. Monitor's moderation team will only provide the student's username in the event of an emergency.
Use this form when working with your local Law Enforcement to ensure proper procedures are in place.

Monitor works best when it is supported at all times, 24/7/365. In fact, Linewize data has revealed that some school districts typically experience an increase in alerts (levels 3-5) outside of school hours. If your district has challenges supporting coverage, consider splitting hours, creating an on-call schedule or checking with your Local Law Enforcement to serve as backups. The Linewize Engagement team is here to support you if changes to your alerting profiles and contacts are needed.
However, we also understand that it simply might not be possible for your district to support Monitor at all times. In the event you need to pause it during after school hours, breaks, or holidays, please refer to the important links below.
There are many great training resources available for Monitor. We recommend watching videos in the On Demand section and reading through the Getting Started, Considerations and Best Practices, and FAQs. If your district is using a "Train the Trainer" approach, the link below contains a Monitor training presentation.
