Welcome to the Lab

The CLS, in Saskatoon, SK, is located on Treaty Six land in the traditional territories of the Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinabek, Lakota, Dakota and Nakota Nations, and the homeland of the Métis. As educators, we respect Indigenous Ways of Knowing and oral traditions. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in the spirit of partnership, reconciliation, and collaboration.

How Can We Help?

The Virtual Classroom was created to have an accessible learning platform that students and educators from across Canada and the globe, especially those in remote areas, can engage with our learning activities and resources. We want to provide the opportunity for every student to learn and connect to science contexts, whether in their classroom, in the lab, at their home, or here, in the virtual classroom. We are here to help! Reach out to us if you have questions along the way.

Indigenous Connections

Stay tuned as we continue to build our programming for Indigenous Engagement. We would like to share the following resources at this point:

Resources

Check out our resources which include both activities students can try at home, detailed lesson plans that can easily be adapted, profiles of people working at CLS, and so much more! We also have resources with Indigenous Connections!

CLS is proud to offer our innovative and award winning Education programs. We gratefully acknowledge funding from PromoScience (a program of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) in support of the Educators' Workshop, Students on the Beamlines, Indigenous Engagement programs, and the TREE program, as well as online and virtual connections. Funding from the Canadian Geological Society has also supported SotB groups. Saskatchewan Arts Council supports part of our Indigenous Program development.
