Learning how to learn is essential to student success.
At Liberty Launch Academy, students learn how to identify their own thinking and then choose how to best interact with others.
Students reflect on their skills, challenges, and work habits. With guidance and insight, we create routines to encourage perseverance, self-management, and confidence.
Mathematics is built into everything we do.
Identifying and communicating relationships between numbers and quantities opens an exciting world of pattern-finding and critical thinking skills.
Our Illustrative Math curriculum centers on exploration and critical thinking.
Students learn skills they need to complete projects that present solutions to real world issues which are important to them.
Language Studies improves our communication skills using words. Every day, students will read critically, listen actively, write often, and speak with clarity.
Our Fountas and Pinnell curriculum provides research-based literacy lessons to augment our project workshops.
In lessons and projects, we will read critically and evaluate the writing of others to become better readers, editors, and writers. All students will be taught ways to participate in group discussions and peer presentations.
Physical Education isn't limited to recess. There's plenty of play built into our day! We're also goal oriented and rigorous about why everyone needs it.
Our program takes a wide view of what it takes to become and stay healthy.
Students will have access to research-based (and age-appropriate) biology lessons about sleep, hygiene, nutrition, mindfulness, and the importance of movement.
Every day, student's skills will meet innovative challenges that blend History, Social Studies, Math, Literature, Science, and the Arts.
Interdisciplinary project time is where the students mix ideas together to get creative results. With collaboration and support, these projects are refined and then shared with the community.
The last part of the day is specifically dedicated to cultivating our individual passion for learning. Students choose their elective and work with mentors and peers.
Dedication to being a life-long learner isn't just about studying "traditional academic topics."
Solving Rubik's cubes, soccer, learning to write scripts, chess, drawing and painting, web design, computer coding... there's a big world to explore!
