Grades 2-3

Literacy (Skill Building)

With a literature rich environment, kids will expand their love of reading, improve their reading skills, and prepare for the many opportunities to use these skills in their futures.

Mindset Maths (Skill Building)

Numbers and patterns in math are fun and can be very engaging for the young learners in our school. We'll integrate math skills in our project based learning to make it meaningful to each learner. Our students will have a firm foundation of math that they will use in real life tasks throughout their lives.

Health & Wellness (Physical Education)

During Health & Wellness time students will work on mindfulness, physical health, mental health, and social-emotional learning. Students will have time to apply the knowledge they gain and practice the skills they learn.

It is essential students have this time to learn and develop the knowledge and skills in Health & Wellness because it applies to their present and future personal health and wellness.

Through explorative, hands-on learning projects, students will use skills with a purpose to help their community and solve social issues impacting the world around us. These projects will have subjects integrated into them such as social studies, science, art, math, reading, writing, communication, professionalism, personal development, cultural competence, and entrepreneurship. They will have teacher guidance and community mentorship, and encouraged to take the lead in areas of their unique strengths that make each of them special and valuable. They will be empowered to be change agents in their communities.

Minds in Motion!

Hobbies and Sports

Students will have opportunities for indoor and outdoor fun, to benefit their well being and overall health and learning. We will promote an active, healthy lifestyle to become an important priority throughout their lives.

Next Gen Essentials

Our students will get an early start on Next Generation Essentials. They'll create, collaborate, design, and present high quality projects. They'll also learn about financial literacy, starting with learning about saving and budgeting.

World Language

As students begin to learn some basics in another language, they'll compare the language with English and learn about the culture of that language.

Learning another language is beneficial for brain development and growth, and the earlier the better. We are born with an innate ability to create more sounds than our native language has, and as we develop our native language speaking skills those other sounds become filtered out. When young children learn a language, it's easier to pick up on those different sounds than later in life. Learning languages opens up many opportunities. We are excited to build up to offering world languages at our school.

Cross Curricular

Through explorative, hands-on learning projects, students will use skills with a purpose to help their community and solve social issues impacting the world around us. These projects will have subjects integrated into them such as social studies, science, art, math, reading, writing, communication, professionalism, personal development, cultural competence, and entrepreneurship. They will have teacher guidance and community mentorship, and encouraged to take the lead in areas of their unique strengths that make each of them special and valuable. They will be empowered to be change agents in their communities.
