What we're learning:
These are the general topics that we will be covering this week.
We're in Outer Space now! Learning about the sun, moon, and solar/lunar eclipses.
We did a spinning activity learning about the Earth's axis, and learning about spinning on our "own" axis. We also revisited the concept of gravity and balanced/unbalanced energy.
I am excited to say we are planning a field trip to the GSO Science Center to go to the Planetarium. Stay tuned for more information!

Any work not completed in class will become their homework.
Students should be reading a quality novel each night for at least 20 minutes. Please send novels with your students to read in class in between assignments.
We will have a Spelling Test on Friday, March 27th. Spelling words will go home on Monday, March 23rd.

How to multiply without use of the Multiplication table.
Using skip counting as a tool for multiplication.

Students will have homework in math every night if they do not finish their work in class.
We will have a Math Test on Thursday, March 26th. Study guide will come home with student on Tuesday, March 24th to give ample time for studying. I am available for extra help in the mornings next week if your student needs some math help.

We are continuing to work on the Parts of Speech that make up a sentences.
We moved into the use of Apostrophies to show possession. Possessive Noun Adjectives (ex: Johnny's friend).

They are working in workbooks to be able to recognize types of speech and the importance of tone. Tone can completely change the meaning of a sentence.
