Inclusive Practice for all
Removing barriers to learning
Challenging conventional thinking
Paul Edge, Head of Ribblesdale School, asks
"Do ECHP's always mean additional adult support?
Or could technology help provide part of that support?"
Driving Educational Equity: Technology's Role in Unlocking Student Potential
Transforming access to the curriculum
Anthony Lees at Cornerstone Academy Trust uses technology to give all children the opportunity to access the curriculum, irrespective of needs and context.
Articulating the impact

Closing the Need Gap
Simon Pile from Anson Primary School poses the question
"Are they high need?
Or do they just have a need?
How can technology help close the
gaps for these children?"
Supporting pupils' confidence and wellbeing
LEO Academy Trust's Emma Dallimore highlights the benefits of technology adoption.
"We have observed significant improvements in student engagement, independence, and access to learning due to technology integration.
Technology empowers students to overcome learning barriers and become more independent.
Universal Design for Learning and technology like text-to-speech enable personalised learning in inclusive classrooms, improving attendance and behaviour, even for high-needs students"
Using technology as the key to unlock access for all
It can simplify differentiation. Instead of creating multiple worksheets, use tech features like text-to-speech or student choice within a single task. This supports diverse learners effectively while saving you significant prep time.
What does the children commissioner
say about Inclusion?
'The reasons behind children with SEND achieving such poor outcomes are varied and complex, but a key factor is how much support they receive from school, which can be heavily limited by funding.
There is always pressure for additional Government or council funding for high-needs budgets, but that generally supports children with EHCPs who have a legal right to support – not children on SEND Support, including those with additional vulnerabilities.
As more funding is directed to the High Needs Block to fund children on EHCPs and special school places, less money is available to support children on SEND Support in mainstream schools.'
