The first application of the Fable Robots at High Furlong was to help those with restricted mobility to be able to interact with the school dog.
Fable was configured to be able to throw the ball remotely through a simple button press, such as the switch device used by some pupils at High Furlong.
'I think one thing that we did at the beginning was start simple. We watched a few examples of how robotics has been used, for example, Boston Dynamics and the work that they're doing in America. From that, we gave the students the opportunity to develop their own ideas of how they think a robot could be suited to our classroom, and that's what gave them the most imagination, I think. Leading from that, we then developed it and linked it more to our students in the classroom, and then we took it from there'

'We like to play 'Boccia'; we throw the ball, and then after we've done, the robot goes and gets it and brings the ball back which has been really helpful for some of which are in wheelchairs'
