'With the pilot project we were looking at solving a problem, getting it to do something that we needed it to do. We've got chickens in the school, so one of the ideas that the children had was about checking on the chickens, feeding the chickens, something like that. So once they'd had a play, they then looked at how they could get it to move. So as if it was going to move towards the chicken food storage area, scoop up the feed and then take it to the chicken coop'

'So a lot of playing, lot of exploring, some of it's been based on what they know how to do and solve their own problems. Others, I don't know whether it's the technology or what it is, but they've sort of overcome things through luck, I think!'

'The whole aspect of coming up with a project where it's actually trying to solve a problem has really got them thinking. Once they get year 5/6, it's about how technology can be used in the real world, not just as part of their computing lesson. So at the moment, we've got some children that are called 'LEGOMASTERS' that are making attachments for the robots. So, like, scoops to pick up the chicken feed that will then be used, go with the coding to then deliver to the chickens.'

A year 6 pupil explores integrating a Microbit with the Robot and exploring how the Microbot can be triggered to convey different emotions.
I''d recommend just taking your time with it and don't get too frustrated. So if you're struggling with something, just take it calm. If you get it wrong, you can fix it. Just, yeah, just take your time'
