'If you're using technology that just helps, you can quickly find out who's got it, who hasn't, and you can move on with the lesson. But what about got that child who perhaps isn't as confident and they can just put their answers? It's going to be anonymous. The teacher can pick it up as soon as it comes up on the board. It's those children who we want to support.'

'Teachers are getting really good at taking previous content that has been built by students and using that as a starting point, as a foundation for students to build upon '

'We only know that by really looking at what difference it's making to pupils and if it's actually doing what we want it to do. So in order to ascertain that, we work really closely with staff at all levels to make sure that what what we've got in front of the children is right for them at that time. If it isn't, we then come together at the drawing board and say, well, what is it that we need it to do? And then we speak to the people that can make it do that for us. So it's always meeting the needs of the children'.
Neill Oldham (Headteacher, Highfurlong School) HF PedTech 7
'Anything that we buy in terms of software or hardware has to be matched and can be efficiently used by those students.'
Mark Birtles (Senior Teacher, Highfurlong School) HF PedTech 5
'I think technology is the only tool where we can truly give our young people a voice without adult interpretation. So if we didn't have that technology, it would be taking their voice away from them.' HF PedTech 3
Erica Smith (EdTech and Communication Lead, Highfurlong School)
'Using the technology in terms of her accessing Reading Pluses support but also having some screen reading and breaking down some of the barriers around reading has actually really increased her confidence and allowed her to apply her reading skills, so that she has actually gone through her SATs and reached the expected standard. Which is phenomenal, given the level of barriers she has!'
