Level: CP
Prerequisite: Any of the four Studio/Foundations Art courses.
Illustration is all around us—on children’s books, book covers, websites, magazines, album covers, clothing, skateboards, and comic books. In this class, we’ll explore the skills needed to create compelling illustrations. You’ll learn key concepts of graphic design and develop creative problem-solving abilities.
We’ll experiment with various art materials and study the works of both historic and contemporary creators. You’ll practice creating thumbnail sketches, pitching ideas, and refining them to bring your visions to life. This course will also help you strengthen your drawing and storytelling skills, laying the foundation for great illustration work.
