Wednesday (5/10): In class: Section 11.4. Homework: Complete 11.4 Class Practice Exercises. Continue in the review packet as you are able.
Thursday (5/11): No class Recitation Day. Homework: Complete test corrections on a separate piece of paper. Complete any remaining problems on the Chapter 11 take home quiz from last week. Turn both in on Tuesday.
Friday (5/12): Complete Review Packet Chapter 5. Make sure you have tests and quizzes from last 3 chapters in your binders.
Monday (5/15): Work on Review Packet Chapter 6 for 45 minutes.

8th Grade Geography (5/12-5/15):
(a) Make several copies of the blank Robinson Map template. Practice the full map at least 3 times freehand. Practice without looking at the sample map. Review the lines, continents, and oceans.
(b) Read the rest of Unit 9 in your green Student Text.
(c) Make sure that all of Unit 7 and 8 workbook problems and mapping is complete in the Student Workbook. Make sure the mapping and capitals for Unit 9 are complete in the workbook. These will be taken up during your class 2-hour block this coming week for three unit workbook grades.

WEDNESDAY 4th period/THURSDAY 5th period - Geography Bee, Robinson Map Contest, and International Food. If you would like to bring an international dish or food item to share with the class feel free to do so. This is optional. Be sure to know all ingredients in your dishes for those with allergies.

Complete pages 48-51 in the Student Workbook for capitals and mapping of Unit 9. The answers are in the Student Text. Take heart - you will know the whole world when we are done! Homework: Redo Pg. 46: #17 and #18 - for each (a) freehand draw the sketch, (b) create the construction from scratch with straightedge and compass. Practice all 4 constructions starting with your own sketched line segments and angles as necessary to memorize the steps.
Friday (10/7): Pg. 54-#6-42 even (answers for the evens were provided in class); Pg. 47 - #22. Draw the original angles on your page (they don't have to match the book). Then construct a new drawing with angle 1 adjacent to angle 2 and both congruent with the original angles.
Monday (10/10): Pg. 55 - #48, 49, 51, 53, 55; Read Pgs. 57-58 review on classifying polygons and complete #1-9 odd. Read Section 1.8 thoroughly. Bring specific questions that you have about Section 1.8 to class. Begin working on Project #1: The Daisy Wheel Hexafoil. Be sure to review the assignment before starting.

Friday (9/30): Research one of the water bodies we have learned about in Unit 2 for Western Europe. Write one paragraph on something you found interesting about this feature. This can be a river, a bay, a sea, etc. You will turn this in for a homework grade. Study/practice mapping the water bodies for Unit 2 on the handout map. Practice mapping the countries for Unit 2.
Monday (10/3): Read the Human Geography section for Unit 2. Jot down 30 interesting facts that you read in this section. Try to pick ones that seem significant. You will turn this in for a homework grade. Start studying the capitals for Western Europe.
