WRITING: Write a keyword outline using your "Cherokee" source. Remember to number the outline with eleven numbers and a Roman numeral "I" for the topic sentence. (for a total of 12 sentences).
Use only three words (a few signs or abbreviations are allowed) & pick the most important FEW words (limited to three)
Practice retelling the story (article "Cherokee") from your keyword outline words. Don't rely on the article. Find someone and practice the retelling (rhetoric!) Be sure to bring your keyword outline to class on Tuesday. ASK me if you need help!!

*write a rough draft for your own editing (double-spaced for easier proofreading)
*hand in rough draft stapled to final best copy
*final draft should be at LEAST three paragraphs (intro, body, and conclusion); of course it may be more (see example in chapter)
intro: make it interesting and catchy
body: include examples or events supporting characteristic or trait (see example in the book)

You will be copying the paragraphs as they are in the book (with errors), and then you will use proofreading marks to show corrections needed. After you are done, with colored ink, check your work to see if you caught all the errors. We will review in class.
