In early-March (2023) Dr. Jason Blackburn was named the Lexington One IB Diploma Program's third Coordinator, replacing Mr. Derek Allison on March 27, 2023.  Dr. Blackburn has taught the IB Latin course for nearly 10 years, has served on the IB Leadership team, and was instrumental in the successful 5-Year Evaluation (October, 2021).  Dr. Blackburn can be reached by email (jblackburn@lexington1.net) or phone (803-821-3555).  

Office Hours for Dr. Blackburn are Monday-Friday 2:15 PM to 3:45 PM and Monday from 3:45 PM to 4:10 PM by request only. These office hours are available during the academic school year (mid-August to early-June) each year.  Requests made for the summer may not be able to be fulfilled.  Please email jblackburn@lexington1.net to inquire about summer meetings.  Please also consider attending an IB-interest meeting to learn more about the IB Program.

Hello and welcome to the Lexington County School District One International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.  Thank you for taking the time to consider our program and the many benefits that it presents for your future.  We are proud to offer the world-class IB Diploma Program to 11th and 12th grade students from all schools in the district.  The IB Diploma Program is housed at Lexington High School, an authorized IB World School, and is also a Lexington One Center for Advanced Study.  The Lexington One IB Program has a history of preparing students for the challenges of college and a track record of having graduates attend top-tier colleges and universities.  I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the students and parents of this program!

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of study that meets the needs of highly motivated high school students in their Junior and Senior years. The IB curriculum focuses on high academic standards, international understanding and citizenship, and second language proficiency.

Lexington One International Baccalaureate Learning Lab (Updated - July, 2021 - See Below)

On May 30, 2019 the Lexington One International Baccalaureate Learning Lab was officially opened!  This unique collaborative space located in Lexington High School was made possible by a generous donation from BB&T to the Lexington District One Educational Foundation and serves as an academic classroom, collaborative space for students, and an office for the IB Diploma Program Coordinator.

Update! The Lexington One International Baccalaureate Learning Lab was moved at the start of the 2021-2022 academic year to F210, located in a former computer lab.  This space has nearly doubled the size of the collaborative space, added seating for an additional 30 students, and given the Lexington One IB Diploma Program a place where we can continue to grow and serve students.
