How Jack Ruined My Day

For this assignment, we retold a fairy tale. But there's a catch! We wrote the fairy tale from the villain's point of view. So, this story is about how Jack is the villain, and the giant is the good guy. I learned how to use a flashforward in a story.
Six Wives

For this poem I used similies to compare being strong together and other foods that are good together. I learned how to use words from a text to create a poem that tells a theme.

For this assignment we were asked to write Haiku poems based on nature, a Haiku poem has a specific pattrn, 5 syllables, 7 syllables, and 5 syllables. For my project I choose to talk about the rain, the ocean, poppies, and trees. At the end of this assignment I learned what a Haiku poem was and how it worked.
The Greatest Show

For this assignment we were asked to write a poem bassed on different songs, the song Greatest Show is about how you dreams can come reality if you let go. For this poem I used imagery and a little bit of metaphors. In this assignment I learned songs have a deeper meaning and that they can tell a story through words.

Finding Wonderland

For this assignment we had to write 8 poems for 8 songs that we listened to. We had to have at least 2 pieces of figurative language in each of the 8 poems. We also had to kind of incorporate the deeper meaning of the song in the poem as well. the song I chose was called finding wonderland. doing this assignment I learned that adding fugitive language makes the poem or story sound better.
Nature Haiku

For this assignment we had to write 4 haikus about nature. We had to have the whole background colored related to the Haiku we did. my 4 haikus were about Puppys, rain, the ocean, and the night sky. I chose these hakus because I relly liked all of them and how they made a really good Haiku. I learned that a haiku is a form of Japanese art that is in the structure 5 syllables in stanza 1, stanza 2 is 7 syllables, stanza 3 5 syllables.
Fariy Tale Retell

For this assignment we had to chose a fairy tale story that we liked and we had to rewrite it to were it was in the villain's perspective and make them the good person. I chose to rewrite the story of Snow Wight and the step mother was a good person and just wanted the best for snow Wight but no one thought so. I learned that makeing a story from a defferint persons perspective it can make a whole new story.
Heart of Stone

Poems of Nature

In this project we made poems about nature. They were just poems about nature that worked to use comparisons to describe nature. For my poems I chose to write about all things you would see when look outside, like the ocean. One thing I learned in this unit was how to make my poetry more descriptive.

How I Became The "Evil Stepmother"

For this project Mrs.huffstetler had us write about a fairytell but we had to write it in the perspective of the antagonist or villian of the story from the first point of view like I was the antagonist. We also had to write in a way that made the antagonist seem like there not or werent a bad person. I chose to write this project from the fairytell Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs with the antagonist being the evil stepmother. I made it seem as the evil stepmother made Snow White pass out as a accident instead of on purpose. For this project I learned how to write a story from a different point of view.
