For this assignment, we were asked to write a haiku poem based on seasons. We learned that a haiku poem is a Japanese form of  poetry that has 5,7,5 line syllables. After we learned about a haiku poem we had to write our poems and illustrate  them based on meaning.             

The Grass By Joshua. For this assignmen t we were ask to white a poem about nature. I diceded to whrite about grass. I chose grass because there was alot of cool things I could think about . One of the reasons was that nature is beautiful.  And i learned how to whrite a realy good peom. 

In this assignment we were supposed to rewrite  a fairy tale by writing from the villain's point of view. I chose Rapunzel because I  really  liked the story when I was little. I chose to write it  from Mother Gothel's perspective to show that she is not as evil as everyone thinks. 

 In this assignment  we were supposed to make up a character, and work to develop the character fully. Then, we were supposed to make a full story out of it. I did it about an apocalypse because my characters were scientist and it would make serum to get all the zombies away.

For this assignment, we retold a fairy tale. But there's a catch! We wrote the fairy tale from the villain's point of view. So, this story is about how Jack is the villain, and the giant is the good guy. I learned how to use a flashforward in a story.

For this assignment we were asked to write a poem based on different songs, the song Six Wives was about how working together you can  accomplish anything. For this poem I used similies to compare being strong together and other foods that are good together. I learned how to use words from a text to create a poem that tells a theme.

For this assignment we were asked to write Haiku poems based on nature, a Haiku poem has a specific pattrn, 5 syllables, 7 syllables, and 5 syllables. For my project I choose to talk about the rain, the ocean, poppies, and trees. At the end of this assignment I learned what a Haiku poem was and how it worked.

For this assignment we were asked to write a poem bassed on different songs, the song Greatest Show is about  how you dreams can come reality if you let go. For this poem I used imagery and a little bit of metaphors. In this assignment I learned songs have a deeper meaning and that they can tell a story through words.

For this assignment we had to write 8 poems for 8 songs that we listened to. We had to have at least 2 pieces of figurative language in each of the 8 poems. We also had to kind of incorporate the deeper meaning of the song in the  poem as well. the song I chose was called finding wonderland. doing this assignment I learned that adding fugitive language makes the poem or story sound better.

For this assignment we had to write 4 haikus about nature.   We had to have the whole background colored related to the Haiku we did. my 4 haikus  were about Puppys, rain, the ocean, and the night sky. I chose these hakus because I relly liked all of them and how they made a really good Haiku. I learned that a haiku is a form of Japanese art that is in the structure 5 syllables in stanza 1, stanza 2 is 7 syllables, stanza 3 5 syllables.

For this assignment we had to chose a fairy tale story that we liked and we had to rewrite it to were it was in the villain's perspective and make them the good person. I chose to rewrite the story of Snow Wight and the step mother was a good person and just wanted the best for snow Wight but no one thought so. I learned that makeing a story from a defferint persons perspective it can make a whole new story.

In this unit of poetry we used the normal type of haiku. Haikus originally come from japan and follow a specific format. They are also usually about nature. I decided to write about bees, the ocean, leaves and the summer. In the haiku unit I learned what a haiku poem was, I realized that it had to have a certain number of syllables on each line.

In this unit we made poems based off of different songs we listened to. We also wrote down important lyrics and a meaning to help us write our poems. For this specific poem I wrote about how the girls life was like a wonderland. I also rhymed in my poem. One thing I learned from this unit was that songs are more common to poems than we think.

For example we would compare nature is to something then we would write a comparison  for something we compared nature to then we ended our poems with saying nature is a metaphor. For this project i chose to write about the beach and compare things at the beach.For this project i learned how to write a poem using comparisons.

For this project Mrs.huffstetler had us write about a fairytell but we had to write it in the perspective of the antagonist or villian of the story from the first point of view like I was the antagonist. We also had to write in a way that made the antagonist seem like there not or werent a bad person. I chose to write this project from the fairytell Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs with the antagonist being the evil stepmother. I made it seem as the evil stepmother made Snow White pass out as a accident instead of on purpose.  For this project I learned how to write a story from a different point of view.
