Students and their parents/guardians must submit a parent note or doctor's note for an absence to be counted as excused. Parents/guardians have 10 parent notes they're allowed to submit per school year.
Students are considered truant after 3 consecutive unexcused absences or a total of 5 unexcused absences in one school year.
Parents/guardians and students have within three days of a student returning from an absence to submit a parent note or medical note in to our registrar, Mrs. Carla Shealy. These can be emailed to her at cshealy@lex2.org.
Monitor the number of unexcused absences by creating a Parent Portal account. (The link for directions on how to set up a Parent Portal account is directly below these tips.)
When your child is absent, you must turn in a medical note or parent note within three days of his/her return to school. You can submit those notes HERE.
As a friendly suggestion, please contact the front office to ensure a parent or medical note has been received within three days of your child’s return to school.
Please keep in mind that a parent note does not automatically excuse an absence.
