A Musical Blast

Have you ever heard of a triple threat? Well it’s not because their super threatening (in a violent way) it is because they are very talented in singing, dancing, and acting, hence the name triple threat. Triple threats are most commonly found in musicals! Like the name suggests, musicals include many songs, acting, and dance numbers. Lucky for us because we live right next to Manhattan, home of Broadway - one of the biggest musical hotspots in the world.Many musicals have originated in movies like Frozen, Little Shop of Horrors, and Hairspray. Others became movies, like Beetlejuice, Grease, and The Lion King. Some musicals on the newer side would include Frozen, SIX, Hadestown, and & Juliet. 

This summer, musicals would be a simply magical place to spend your time, for some education, entertainment, and fun! Some popular musicals include & Juliet, a retelling of Romeo and Juliet if Juliet had refused marriage, tangling well known songs, and witty literature. Wicked is a tale of what made the Wicked Witch of the West so awful to Dorothy from well known novel The Wizard of Oz. The Music Man tells the story of Harold Hill, a traveling salesman and music teacher who might be around just long enough to steal your wallet, who finds things different in a small town in the countryside of Iowa. SIX illustrates the story of notorious Henry VIII six wives, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr, all of whom either were divorced, beheaded, while one died, and the other survived. Beetlejuice is a story about Lydia whose mother dies, when her father remarries, they move to a new house that is in fact inhabited by ghosts, who try to haunt the newcomers away for some peace and quiet, and end up summoning Beetlejuice for help-but he gets tangled up with Lydia’s story.
