What an incredible few weeks we've had welcoming your children to the start of the new term in Nursery! We've been so impressed by how quickly and happily the children have settled into their new environment. It has been wonderful to see so many new faces, and we've celebrated lots of milestones as the children have settled in beautifully and made friends. Many have quickly established comfortable routines, which is fantastic!
Our Forest School sessions have been a huge hit! The children have embraced exploring the great outdoors, getting wonderfully muddy, and using their imaginations. From going on scavenger hunts and looking at the natural environment during Autumn. These sessions are a fantastic way for them to develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a deep appreciation for nature.
The children are loving having PE twice a week! These sessions are crucial for developing their gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness. They've been having a blast with fun games and activities that also teach them about following instructions and working as a team.
Our main topic this term is "People Who Help Us," and we've been having some brilliant discussions and activities. We've introduced the children to the vital roles of doctors and firefighters, learning about the important jobs they do to keep us safe and healthy. We've also focused on how we can be helpful too! We've talked a lot about the importance of being kind to our friends, sharing toys, helping tidy up, and looking after one another. We're encouraging every child to see themselves as a helpful member of our nursery community.
It truly has been an amazing start, full of fun, laughter, and fantastic learning. We look forward to the rest of the term and all the exciting things we have planned!
