Our U11 Surrey Cup team continued their campaign against Royal Russell School on 7th February. A great early goal from Harry found us 1-0 up, unfortunately just before half time the weather got the better of us and we had to take some time inside. The team showed great resilience and perseverance in these very tough weather conditions, including hail and sleet! Despite the time off the pitch, the game finally finished with a 5-1 scoreline to Royal Russell. That concludes our Cup run and we wish Royal Russell good luck in the next round.
Our Girls football team played Eastwick on a very wet and cold February afternoon. The team showed great character to secure a phenomenal 8-0 win in the local friendly match. Well done to the whole team who showed great professionalism, worked well together and embraced the cold to score an impressive number of goals.
A huge well done to our U11 Boys team who played in a local friendly against Eastwick on Friday 14th February. There was some fantastic football on display, and it was great to finally see some sunshine too. A fantastic end to our half term with a 5-1 win. Well done to all involved!

On Wednesday 12th February, our Year 5/6 netball club took part in a friendly tournament against Hurst Park School at West Ashtead. The children were split into teams and played a number of matches against the Hurst Park teams. All the teams presented great character and resilience, developing with each game they played. Well done to everyone involved.

On Monday 24th February our year 5 dodgeball team took on the LEO Sports Dodgeball competition at Therfield School. It was great to build links with our local Secondary school. The team enjoyed great afternoon, with some fantastic throwing, catching and dodging on display. They were also impressed with the snacks from the wonderful Therfield cafe! Well done to all involved and a huge thanks to Therfield for hosting the event.
Our new LEO Boot Bank has opened! A sustainable way to source your next pair of football boots.
A giant leap towards sustainability and community support, the LEO Academy Trust Boot Bank is proud to launch! Kickstarted by an incredible donation from James Jar of Gifts, this initiative embodies the spirit of giving back. James Jar of Gifts, a local charity born from love and loss, focuses on empowering children and young people, both in the UK and internationally. Their inspiring work includes sponsoring university students in Kenya, supporting girls' education in Uganda, and aiding community projects in York and Chertsey.
The Boot Bank is a win-win solution. By providing gently used boots to families in need, it reduces waste and supports those facing financial challenges. Together, we can make a difference, one step at a time.
The scheme is open to all children at Hurst Park, West Ashtead and Shawley Community.
Our sessions are designed for keen footballers aged 6-14 who want to develop their skills in a supportive environment. Led by experienced and passionate coaches, we focus on fostering both technical growth and confidence, ensuring each child feels valued and motivated to succeed.
We believe these sessions could be a fantastic opportunity for students with a passion for football, and we want parents to be aware of this resource.
