This week's learning......
English - We have been focusing on using speech to convey character and move the story forward. Children have then re-written the beginning of our story 'Letters from a Lighthouse' with this in mind.
Maths - Children have been learning to work out percentages of numbers as well as percentage increases. They have then moved onto thinking about ratios.
Art - In Art children have been learning about artists who have used layering and juxtaposition to convey culture and identity in their work.
Science - We have been learning about the movement of the solar system and the distances between planets.
History - Children have been creating fact files about Greek Gods and then learning about how Ancient Greece was governed.
Upcoming learning......
English - Children will be writing diary entries as though they were different characters from the book, 'Letters from a Lighthouse'.
Maths - We will be completing our ratios unit and then moving on to look at algebra.
Art - Children will be developing their skills and confidence in observational drawing by drawing portraits of each other.
History - We will be looking at democracy and Ancient Greece as well as learning about Ancient Greek philosophers.
Science - Children will be learning about why we have day and night and the different phases of the moon.
