Book of the week- Superworm
We have enjoyed reading the story of the week 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson. We have been busy making Superworm out of clay, we used our fine motor skills to roll the clay into the shape of Superworm. We waited for them to dry and then we painted them pink. This week we have been learning about number sentences, we have learnt how to write the plus and equal signs. We have used jottings (dots, crosses or lines) to work out the number sentences. In literacy we have been learning about adjectives and we have been describing different characters from the story. We used our phonics knowledge to write a sentence describing Superworm, some of us challenged ourselves and used the word 'and' to make our sentences longer.
In phonics we have been continuing to learn phase 3 sounds. We have learnt ur, ow, oi and ear and we are looking at trying to find them in words we want to write. We have been busy trying our hardest in early morning work where we have been writing words and trying to hear all of the sounds in the words we want to write.
