In English this week, we have started looking at the story, The dragon Machine. We enjoyed retelling the story in small groups and exploring the new vocabulary in the text. We then looked at what makes a good sentence and wrote our own super sentences using describing words to match different pictures from the story.

In Maths, we have been learning about shape. We have learnt the names of many shapes and looked at their properties. We have also made patterns using shapes.

In Science, we have continued to look at the four seasons and how many daylight hours we have in each season. 

In Art, we have enjoyed developing our printing skills by making imprints of objects in plasticine and then using these to make a pattern in our sketch books using black ink.

Maths -  We will be learning all about measures. We will start by measuring objects using non-standard units, such as our hands and then we will learn to measure in centimetres using a ruler. 

English -  We will be designing our own dragons and then writing a description of them using adjectives. 

Science -  We will be using thermometers to measure the temperature outside. We will then do this again at different points of the year to see how the temperature changes in different seasons. 

History - We will be learning all about teddies and then we will look at how toys have changed over the years.

Art -  We will be making our own tiles and printing using ink.
