In Maths this week we have been learning about ‘Fractions’. We have been learning about halves, thirds and quarters. We have also been learning about how many equal parts make a whole. We also created a fraction wall to help us compare halves, thirds and quarters to a whole. In Writing this week we have been busy writing our non chronological report on Owls. We researched information about owls and sorted the fact statements into subheadings for our report. In History, we have been learning about Bessie Coleman and how she became a pilot. We wrote down a range of questions we would ask to find out more information about her life. In Art, we made secondary colours by mixing primary colours together and used different tools to create different markings. In Computing this week, we used our knowledge on Algorithms to build and code a moving boat using Lego. We also had to use our communication and teamwork skills to ensure we built it correctly.
Maths: In Maths, we will be continuing to learn about finding halves, quarters and thirds of quantity.
Writing: In Writing, we will be writing a persuasive letter on climate change based on our Power of Reading text ‘The Journey Home’.
Science: In Science, we will be learning about food chains and knowing how and where plants and animals get their food.
History: In History, we will be learning about Amelia Earhart and her life as a pilot.
