YEAR 1
This week's learning.....
In English we have been reading the story Tidy by Emily Gravett, focusing on adjectives in the text and rewriting it in our own words. In maths we have been dividing by 'sharing out' items moving on this week finding halves and quarters of shapes. In Science we transformed into plant detectives, hunting down flowers and sorting them into wild and garden categories. We expanded our botanical knowledge by classifying deciduous and evergreen trees. Geography took us on a trip through time, where we learned about Christopher Columbus's voyage to the New World in the 15th century and compared it to the journeys of modern explorers like Dame Ellen MacArthur. In Art we got up close and personal with creepy crawlies, using graphite and pastels to create detailed observations of them.
