This week's learning.....

The story we have been looking at this week is The Tiger Who Came to Tea, we have enjoyed using our fine motor skills to make tigers out of play dough and some of us have even tried to draw our own tigers!

The children have been doing great phonics learning and have learnt the sounds i, n, m, and d. They have also been working really hard to sound out and blend words using their robot arms! The children have made amazing initial sounds of their first names by using loose parts.

We have been learning to count accurately to 10 and understand the word altogether. We have been practising showing the correct finger representations for different numbers.

The children have been really enthusiastic during our PE lessons where we are practising following instructions and safely moving around the hall on a bike!

We even had a tour around the whole of the school this week where we could see where other children learn and we loved looking at the paintings in the library and spotting the polar bear.

Upcoming learning.....

Maths - We will be learning how to subitise and looking at different repeating patterns and how we can create them or extend them. We will also be looking at different sized objects and how we can use different vocabulary to describe their size.

English/Phonics - We will be looking at magic writing and how we can make marks which represent something, we will try to write the initial sounds for words. We will also be looking at what speech bubbles are.

Understanding the world - We will be speaking about different events we celebrate and we will be showing care for mini beasts by going on an autumn walk to collect different things to start making our bug hotel.

Expressive art and design- We are looking at different colours and how we can mix colours to make other colours.
