YEAR 2
YEAR 2
Dear Parents and Carers,
We've had another week filled with marvellous discoveries and learning in Year 2!
Writing:
Inspired by the wonderfully wacky "George's Marvellous Medicine," we've been focusing on enhancing our writing by using suffixes to change word meanings and constructing expanded noun phrases to add greater detail and description to our sentences.
Maths:
This week, we've been getting to grips with capacity, exploring millilitres (ml) and litres (l). We've been measuring liquids and comparing the capacity of different containers, developing our understanding of these important units.
Science:
We've been learning about the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle – and how they help our planet. We've also been busy grouping materials into two main categories: human-made and natural, understanding the origins of the things around us.
History:
Our historical focus this week has been on understanding what a monarch is. We've learned about the role of a king and queen, in particular, about the coronation of King Charles III and its significance.
Financial Education:
We've started to explore the world of finance by looking at the difference between credit and debit. We've discussed how they work and the importance of understanding these concepts.
We look forward to another week of exciting learning ahead!
Sincerely,
The Year 2 Team
