It's been another busy fortnight in Year 6! In English, we've been diving deep into the world of "Letters From The Lighthouse." The children have been honing their writing skills by crafting diary entries from the perspectives of Cliff, Olive, and Mum. Maths has seen us exploring the realms of shape and space, with a focus on calculating the area and perimeter of triangles, parallelograms, and compound shapes. History has taken us back in time to the Battle of Britain, where we've been learning about this pivotal moment in British history. In science, we've continued our journey through evolution and inheritance, discovering the fascinating ways in which life on Earth has changed over time. Financial education has taken a practical turn, as we've been investigating the risks involved when borrowing money – a valuable life skill for everyone! And in computing, the children have been putting their design skills to the test, creating their very own maze games.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Volume
Writing - We will be writing our diary entries based on characters from Letters From The Lighthouse.
Reading - focusing on vocabulary and understanding of the text.
Science - We will be looking at adaptations and why it is necessary.
