In Year 4, the children have enjoyed planning and creating their own advertisements based on the Beowulf text. They used persuasive language and eye-catching visuals to create some fantastic adverts. In maths, the children have been working hard on graphs. They have learned about different types of graphs and how to interpret data. In history, the children have been exploring the discovery of Sutton Hoo and how it linked to the Anglo-Saxons. They were fascinated to learn about the treasures that were found and what they tell us about the Anglo-Saxons. And in science, the children have been carrying out investigations on melting, freezing, condensing, and evaporating. They have enjoyed planning and carrying out their own experiments.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - We will be working on fractions.
Writing - We will continue working on our new Power of Reading text 'Beowulf' and will be writing a narrative with the purpose to entertain.
History - We will explore bias by evaluating sources about Alfred the Great.
Science - We will work on exploring different stages of the water cycle.
