Year 5 have enjoyed another thrilling couple of weeks. In English, we've transformed into persuasive letter-writing experts! We've learned how to craft compelling arguments, using strong language and persuasive techniques. We wrote heartfelt letters from the missing children in the Amazon Rain forest to convince their parents to come and collect them. Our journey through Ancient Greece has been truly captivating in history too! We've delved into the lives of influential philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, exploring their ideas and their impact on the world today. In Science, we've explored the wonders of our solar system and discovered the fascinating relationship between the Earth, the Sun, and the Moon. We've investigated the causes of day and night, learned about the phases of the moon, and even conducted exciting experiments to understand how shadows change throughout the day. Finally in art, we've been inspired by renowned artists, exploring the contrasting styles of city scape and landscape painters. We've learned about perspective, colour theory, and different artistic techniques, and we've created some truly stunning pieces of art that showcase our creativity and skill.
