Year 1 have had a very busy couple of weeks! In English, we have been reading the story 'Tidy' by Emily Gravett. We have thought about the problems Pete, the main character, faces in the story and how he solves them. We have also written a retell of the story and tried to use some of the language from the book. In maths we have been recapping addition and subtraction. We have found all the number bonds of ten and twenty as well as making fact families. In science we have been learning about deciduous and evergreen trees and have compared leaves to see how they are similar and different. In art this week we have created pictures of minibeasts using the medium of collage. In history we have been learning about Dame Ellen MacArthur.
