What a busy and brilliant few weeks it's been in Year 3! The children have been working incredibly hard across all subjects, and we’re so proud of their effort and achievements.
We’ve had some fantastic work in Literacy recently! The children truly excelled at researching and writing their non-chronological reports about bison. They meticulously planned their subheadings, drafted informative paragraphs, and used technical vocabulary, resulting in some truly amazing pieces of writing.
In Maths, the children have been showing great determination in tackling column addition and subtraction of numbers up to the hundreds, with renaming. This is a tricky concept, but the children have persevered, demonstrating a much stronger understanding and improved accuracy. Keep practising those number bonds at home to help reinforce these skills!
Our Science lessons have focused on healthy eating. We’ve been learning all about the different food groups and what a balanced diet looks like. The children have enjoyed sorting foods and planning healthy meals.
In history lessons, the children have learnt about changes and continuity over time from prehistory until the Iron Age. They also learnt about trade and how barter was important during this time.
Finally, in Art, the children have been transported back in time! They used charcoal to create their own versions of cave paintings. They explored texture and line, producing some stunning, ancient-inspired artworks that look wonderful on our display board.
