Over the last 2 weeks in English we have used the original story of Peace at Last by Jill Murphy as our stimulus for writing. We have sequenced the story, created a story map and written our own version of the story in a booklet.
In maths the children have been making addition stories and writing number sentences.
In science we have used a thermometer to find out the temperature of a typical autumn day and used our knowledge of the seasons and the weather to make a weather report for our chosen season.
In art we have brought together all the skills we have explored this half term to create a class collaborative piece of artwork. They looked amazing!
In history we have thought about what we would put in a time capsule to represent what childhood is like now.
Our learning for next week:
Maths - In maths we will be subtracting within 10. We will start by using the crossing out method..
Writing - Our writing stimulus will be 'Winnie the Pooh'. We will be exploring his character and writing a character description.
History - We will be using all that we have learnt this half term to make comparisons between childhood in the past and childhood today.
Science - We will be using all that we have learnt about the weather and seasons to answer questions in a quiz.
