This half term our theme is 'All about me' as we settle into Nursery.
Over the past 2 weeks we have been reading the books 'The family book' and 'We're going on a bear hunt'.
In Phonics we have been looking at rhyming words and thinking about how words that rhyme sound the same at the end, such as 'cat' and 'bat' or 'mice' and 'rice'. We have also been looking at voice sounds, such as 'chchch', 'whee' and 'ohhh'.
In Maths have been looking at bigger and smaller, we even learnt the Makaton signs for 'big' and 'small'. We have also been singing number songs, such as 5 little speckled frogs and 5 little ducks, practising our counting skills.
We have been learning about the Zones of Regulation. These aim to help students work towards being independent in self-regulation. We learnt about the blue zone, red zone, yellow zone and green zone. We even practised some breathing techniques that we can use to help us get back to the green zone.
We continue to work on our independence skills, such as putting our belongings on our own peg and pigeon holes, using the toilet and washing our hands and putting our coats on ourselves.
