Year 4 have settled into the year extremely well and are already working hard. Last week, we enjoyed talking about our Summer holidays and discussing the year ahead. We designed our class charters and spoke about our rights and duties in school. We enjoyed listening to speeches and voting for our Digital Leader, School Council and Eco Squad member. In Maths, we have been exploring place value through games and manipulatives. In Writing, we have started our new text 'Escape from Pompeii' and have written creative poems about the events of a volcanic eruption. In PE, we have been working in teams to complete different tasks and activities. In History, we had fun going back in time to explore and reinact the Romans and Celts battle. We have been blossoming artists this week exploring the use of chalk in preparation for our scenes that we will be creating. over the coming weeks. Children are welcome to bring in small props for their art lesson next week (minature animals/figurines) however, we will have plenty for them at school to use.
We have also enjoyed reading our new Read Aloud Class book. As there is a big push on reading this year, we have all been reading as much as we can in the mornings at school, as well as at home.
Well done Year 4!
