With only a week to go before SATs, Year 6 have continued to work extremely hard in the last couple of weeks. Many of our lessons involve revising and consolidating our learning, while also trying to make lessons fun with different new learning apps to try on our chrome books. In reading, we have focused on inference questions, pulling apart texts to really understand the characters, relationships and settings. In writing lessons, we watched a short clip called "The Present" which was about a boy who was addicted to his play station. We wrote a narrative, looking at atmosphere and dialogue to convey character and advance the action. Finally, in PE, we have continued working on our aim and accuracy, playing various games to enhance our skills.
To celebrate Autism Awareness Week, we also learnt about Autism and how it affects people, along with finding out ways to help. We all made a puzzle piece to show we can all fit together and being different should be celebrated.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Revision of reasoning questions
Writing - Revision of various grammar styles in writing
Reading - Revising retrieval, vocabulary and inference style questions
Science - Circuits, Batteries and Switches. We are planning an Electricity Day at some point this term.
