The past two weeks have been full of exciting learning and even a fun sleepover! During our sleepover, the children put their engineering skills to the test by building bridges out of newspaper and launching paper aeroplanes. We enjoyed popcorn and stories before a well-deserved rest. Back in class, English lessons have sparked creativity as the children are busy planning their own magical stories based on a spell. Get ready to be amazed by their writing next week! In Maths, we've been diving into the world of fractions, learning how to find equivalent fractions and comparing them. Meanwhile, Science has seen us become plant detectives! We set up an experiment with celery and food colouring to observe how water travels through a plant's stem.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Next week we will be adding and subtraction fractions.
Writing - In English we will be completing a short story based on a spell.
History - We will be looking at artefacts and exploring the question 'What do artefacts tell us about life in the Roman times?'
Science - In Science we will be looking at the importance of a flower for a plant's survival as well as looking at the different parts and what they do.
