Year 4 has had an action-packed start to the new term! In Writing, we plunged into our new Power of Reading text, The Fire maker's Daughter, focusing on character and setting descriptions. Maths saw us begin our exploration of area and perimeter, measuring the space inside and around shapes. Science introduced our new topic, 'Living Things, Classification and Changing Habitats', with the children starting to sort plants into groups. To top it off, our History lesson transported us to the world of the Maya civilisation through an engaging Now Press Play experience.
Over the next two weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Area and Perimeter of shapes
Writing - Fire Maker's Daughter - Writing a narrative with the purpose to entertain
History - How did the achievements of the ancient Maya civilisation impact their society and beyond?
Science - Animals: Classification and Changing Habitats - Vertebrates and Invertebrates
